An Artistic Journey Through Tiles

The Eonian Tile Gallery Mosa is a renovation project that transformed an 80 square meter warehouse into a multifunctional space. The design includes an office, showroom, teaching studio, and presentation area. Drawing inspiration from the concept of an art gallery, the designers made tiles the centerpiece of the space, turning the selection process into an aesthetic journey.

One of the standout features of the Eonian Tile Gallery Mosa is its staggered and detached design, giving the space a weightless look. Glass volumes are incorporated, creating a sense of openness and allowing natural light to flow through the space. The flexible displays and versatile layout make efficient use of the vertical surfaces, offering various looks and enhancing the overall visual appeal.

The design of the Eonian Tile Gallery Mosa focuses on creating contrast and highlighting the tiles' characteristics. A large white background sets off the tiles' signature texture, while a specially designed black wall for the colored tile series provides a striking contrast. The exposed ceiling and neutral color palette further enhance the characteristics of the MOSA brand.

Functionality and versatility were also key considerations in the design. Glass walls, gaps, display boards, and sliding doors were integrated to define the office boundaries while offering adaptability. The meeting table, with built-in tile storage racks, adds a stylish touch and convenient access to the tiles.

The Eonian Tile Gallery Mosa project was completed in Taipei, starting in April 2020 and finishing in June 2020. The design team, consisting of An Zhi Zheng and Cheng Ze Li, conducted extensive research to treat the tiles as artworks, adding new value to the showroom. The flexible display layouts and careful division of areas ensure an airy and inviting space for customers to explore.

The Eonian Tile Gallery Mosa design overcame several challenges to create a unique and visually appealing space. The page-like display boards mimic the experience of reading a book, making the tile selection process engaging and enjoyable. The foldable structure reduces oppressive feelings and increases the display items, while a corner volume combines storage cabinets and a focal-point display wall, toning down obtrusive right angles.

The Eonian Tile Gallery Mosa, designed by An Zhi Zheng and Cheng Ze Li, has been recognized for its outstanding design. It was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2022. This prestigious award acknowledges the design's creativity, resourcefulness, and contribution to improving quality of life through art, science, design, and technology.
